Adagio Teas : Herbal Spearmint Tea
Review
A Wonderful Spearmint Tea
Summary : This is, quite simply, THE spearmint tea
for spearmint lovers. To put it bluntly, if you like spearmint tea, stop
right now and head over to
Adagio Teas and pick yourself up some.
Review : Spearmint is my second favorite mint flavor,
right behind peppermint. And so it should come as no surprise that I
ordered a sampler of
Adagio Teas Spearmint Tea, a herbal tea.
Like all sampler teas, this one came packaged in one of their little
tins that are airtight and lightproof. The "airtight" quality
of the tin is particularly important here, because this spearmint tea
has an absolutely overpowering aroma. Pop the lid off the tin and - presto
- you will be greeted by a wonderful and powerful scent of spearmint.
Here is the description of this spearmint tea provided by Adagio Teas
: "Dried spearmint leaves to make a minty, refreshing drink that
is highly satisfying both hot and cold. A native of the Mediterranean,
spearmint was revered by ancient Romans for its ability to "stir
up the mind." It continues to be savored for its refreshingly light
aroma, as well as its natural, caffeine-free taste. If you have yet to
try gourmet spearmint, you'll be pleasantly surprised by its superior
flavor."
This tea consists of a single ingredient : spearmint leaves. Yep, that's
it. And, now that I think about it, why would you want to add anything
else to a spearmint tea?
Like other herbal teas from Adagio, this particular tea needs to be
brewed a while. The leaves are relatively large, and it takes a while
for the full flavor of the spearmint to fully come out. Recommended brewing
time is 7 minutes, something I fully agree with.
So...the question of the day...what did this tea taste like? Do you
really need to ask? It tasted like spearmint, of course! And a very good
spearmint too. This tea is equal in flavor in my opinion to another superb
spearmint tea, Culinary Teas
Spearmint Tea. Which one you want to try is up to you I guess, but
really, I couldn't find much of a difference in taste - both were simply
excellent.
In any event, if you love mint - and if you especially love spearmint
- well, this tea has your name written all over it. So stop what you
are doing and point your browser towards
Adagio Teas and pick up some!
Recommendation : Absolutely. If you love spearmint,
or any mint tea for that matter, I'll be perplexed if you don't like
this tea! The rather strong and lingering after-taste, however, may not
make this the worlds greatest bedtime tea though!
