Good Earth Red Lemon Rooibos
Tea Review
A Great Lemon Tasting Rooibos Tea
Summary : This is a great lemon flavored tea...made
with rooibos leaves which is rather unique...and healthy! If you love
lemon teas but want to get your antioxidants too (not usually found in
lemon herbal teas), then this tea has your name on it.
Review : Well, I've been a very bad person. I've drank
many cups of tea the past few days...but for a change...it has all been
the same! The past few days I've wildly consumed the Good
Earth Original Sweet & Spicy Tea and Good
Earths Red Sweet & Spicy Tea...both of which
taste nearly identical and have a flavor I absolutely love.
But alas, I have a tea review site...and that
means breaking out of the box from time to time and trying new teas. And
since I wasn't in a "painslut" mood tonight, I didn't have gthe heart to
try a sampler box of decaffeinated teas I have. And so I went searching
for something that I thought I might like.
And the first tea to catch my attention was a rooibos tea from Good Earth,
called Red Lemon. As I love lemon, and absolutely love other Good Earth
teas, trying this tea seemed like a safe bet.
Here is how Good Earth describes this tea : "Rooibos
is the main ingredient in our Red Tea Lemon. Studies show that rooibos
contains natural powerful antioxidants, some stronger antioxidants than
found in black tea, along with trace elements. Red Tea also contains
flavonoids and Super Oxide Dismutase (SOD), antioxidants that help protect
the body
against free radicals, molecules which weaken the body's natural defense
against aging. Drinking Red Tea regularly can enhance a long life of
well-being."
This tea contains the following ingredients : Rooibos, Lemon Peel, Orange
Peel, Chicory Root, Hibiscus, Rosehips, Spearmint, Lemongrass and Natural Flavors.
Well, you will have no doubt that this is a lemon tea the second you take
the shrink wrap off the box...the aroma of the lemon is really strong, somehow
even escaping the individual tea bag foil wrappers. And of course, for a lemon
tea, that is a really good thing.
So what about the flavor? Do you need to really ask? This tea tasted like
lemon of course! But happily, the flavor of lemon wasn't super sweet nor was
it super strong. This tea, while having a great lemon flavor, isn't so overpowering
that drinking this tea is not like sucking on a raw lemon.
Additionally, while this tea is primarily a lemon tea, there is a subtle flavor
of spearmint lurking in the background. The spearmint flavor is NOT strong.
But it is there. And the spearmint mixes quite nicely with the lemon in the
tea...producing a very unique and flavorful rooibos tea.
Overall, if you love lemon teas, then this is a tea you must definitely try.
Recommendation : Yes. This is a great tea for anyone who
wants a lemon tea and who also wants to get their healthy antioxidants, which
rooibos tea has in abundance (unlike most lemon herbal teas, which have no
antioxidants). The lemon in this tea mixes nicely with the rooibos and spearmint
to produce a very enjoyable and unique flavored rooibos tea.
