Review
A Tea Straight From the Flower Garden!
A Great Mood-Lifting Tea!
Summary : A tea that truly smells, and tastes, like
a flower garden! The jasmine leaves in this tea mesh perfectly with oolong
tea leaves, giving this tea a beautiful fragrance and a wonderful taste.
Review : So here it is. Midnight. Early-December. It's
cold. It's dark. And for whatever reason, my mood is dark. My spirits
down. Why? Who knows. But for whatever the cause, I wanted to uplift
my mood a bit...so off I went to my increasing collection of exotic teas.
At first I wanted a sweet tea, perhaps dusting off a good peppermint
tea. But...I wanted something different. Something I haven't tried before.
And so I opened up several tins of teas I recently bought from
Adagio Teas.
I wasn't in the mood for black tea, so I put those back. I then noticed
a tin of oolong tea that said Jasmine #9 on it. Interesting...if only
because I had not the first clue what was in it.
So being curious, I popped the tin and was greeted by the very sweet
and rather potent fragrance of a flower garden! Yes...just what the doctor
ordered. Flowers on a cold and dark Nevada December night. I felt my
spirits lift and the cloud over my mood began to move on.
This tea, confession time, was my first Jasmine Tea. So what is a Jasmine
Tea, or more specifically...what is jasmine? Simple...it is a tea that
contains tea leaves (such as black or oolong) that has been infused with
jasmine
flowers.
Or, a
Jasmine
Tea
can simply be a tea that contains nothing but jasmine flowers, too. But
in the case of
Adagio Teas Jasmine #9 tea, it is a oolong tea that has a hefty does of jasmine flowers
infused into the tea itself.
Here is the description of this tea as provided by
Adagio Teas : "Oolong tea from the Fujian province of China infused with the
delicate scent of the night-blooming jasmine flowers. If you enjoy jasmine
tea, we urge you to try the sublime taste of its well-made varieties.
Our 'Jasmine Suite no. 9' is the finest grade Yin Hao tea, perfectly
suited for special occasions. It melts into a cup of sweet fragrance
and delicate jasmine notes. You will be hard-pressed to find anything
so sublime."
To me, this particular tea will forever be known as the "flower
garden" tea. The reason for this is simple...it is the first tea
I've ever tried that truly tasted and smelled like a flower garden. And
a real good flower garden at that!
I really don't know how to describe the wonderful taste of this tea.
It's light. It's sweet. It's subline. Pick your adjective, I guess. But
however you choose to describe it, this tea is just wonderful on the
taste buds.
And, oh my, the fragrance of this tea. You smell it when you open the
tea container. You smell it when you brew it. And you smell it when you
drink it. That very sweet and pleasant fragrance of summer-time flowers...in
this case, jasmine flowers.
Ultimately, this, at least for me, is a mood-uplifting tea. It's a tea
that takes you back to summer with its beautiful color and flowery taste
and fragrance. So if you like flowers, or better yet, jasmine flowers...I
assure you, you will love this tea as much as me. If you don't, well,
something is just plain wrong with you!
Recommendation : Yes. Down mood? Dark thoughts? Dead
of winter? Hmm...pop open this tea and that will all be forgotten for
a while. The beautiful fragrance of this tea will simply wisk you back
to the warm days of summer. And the flowery taste of this tea will keep
you there, even long-after the tea has been consumed, as the after-taste
just lingers on and on and on. So if you like a flowery tea, or need
a tea to wash away evil thoughts, run over to
Adagio Teas and grab yourself some of this delightful tea!
