Tazo Passion Herbal Tea Review
Like a Fruity Tea? Then this tea is for you.
Summary : With a very strong taste, Tazo's Passion Herbal Tea is a very fruity tea that will satisfy a persons craving for "fruit in a tea."
Review : I really do love fruit. Banana's, Oranges, Grapes, Watermelon (yummy) and the list goes on. Yet....to be perfectly honest, fruity teas have never really floated my boat. So I greeted this tea with mixed emotions. I've really enjoyed other Tazo teas, but yet, this was a fruit tea.
So torn between these emotions, I banished all emotions aside before working up the nerve to try out this tea. And I'm sort of glad I did.
The fragrance of the tea right out of the foil wrapper is pleasant. Not super strong, not weak....just pleasant.
Tazo's Passion Herbal Tea contains the following ingredients : Hibiscus Flowers, exotic herbs, itric acid, orange peel, licorice root, cinnamon bark, rose hips, lemongrass and red poppy. and natural tropical flavors.
As you can see, Tazo is a bit "guarded" about what exactly goes into this tea - what is in those "natural tropical flavors" and "exotic herbs?" Hmmm.......
However, it doesn't take a genius to realize that Tazo combined a very wide variety of whatever exotic herbs and natural tropical flavors into this tea. The taste is, quite simply, very wild and very, very fruity.
Unfortunately, pinning down what this tea actually tastes like is rather difficult. To be quite blunt, it tastes like no fruit I've ever had before. Instead, it's a jumble of fruity things all mixed together that, in the end of the day, produce a strong, rather pleasant fruity taste. I'll let you determine exactly what that "fruity taste" is, though.
I should also mention that this tea is very beautiful once brewed. It has a deep red color to it - so be sure to drink it in a clear glass.
Now...keep this in mind. This tea has a very strong flavor. If you are searching for a "light fruit tea", then this tea is most definitely not for you.
Recommendation : Yes and no. I'm not a huge fan of fruity teas, and as such, this tea is by no means my favorite tea in the cupboard. On the other hand, it takes no leap of the imagination to realize that someone who enjoys a "fruity tea" will greatly enjoy this tea. Since I'm lukewarm on this tea, I'm giving it three stars. But...if you like "fruit teas", then consider this a 4 or 5 star tea. Additionally, I can see where this tea would make a superb iced tea.
