Numi Teas Bushmens Brew Honeybush
Tea Review
An Enjoyable Honey Flavored Organic
Herbal Tea
Summary : In the mood for something "semi-sweet?" Like
honey? Then you'll like this tea from Numi Teas. The tea has a semi-sweet
flavor to it with the moderately strong flavor of honey. A tasty herbal
tea that also contains antioxidants, too.
Review : What a waste of a day. Didn't get up til 2pm,
and really accomplished nothing today. And now, at 10pm, I'm feeling
lazy. So...in an effort to perk myself up, I dug through my tea samplers
looking for something "sweet," as I had a peculiar urge for something
sweet.
The first tea dug up that seemed like it would be sweet was a tea from
Numi Teas, called Bushmen's Brew Honeybush Herbal Tea. Honey...I like
that. In fact, I love that. Honey is so far superior to sugar as a sweetener,
well, I won't go there. It just is, ok?
Here is how Numi Teas describes this tea on their website
: "For hundreds of years, the Khoi and San peoples of Southern
Africa hand gathered this plant from the mountainous regions of their
homelands. This honey scented flowering bush creates an enticing rich
brew with sweet honey over-tones. Rich in anti-oxidants, phytoestrogens
and essential minerals, this new, organic African herbal is both delicious
and healthy. One sip and the secret touches your soul."
This tea, which is organic, contains the following ingredients : Organic
Honeybush.
Well, truthfully, I'm not sure if this tea "touched my soul." But it
certainly satisfied my taste buds, and so 1 for 2 isn't that bad I guess.
Quite simply, this Honeybusy Herbal Tea has a very pleasant flavor.
Rather interestingly, the full flavor of this tea doesn't fully hit you
til AFTER you have finished it. Yes....I found the after-taste of this
tea to be stronger than the tea itself.
As one would probably expect, this tea is semi-sweet. However, don't
get me wrong...this tea is nowhere near as sweet as say Tazo's
Wild Sweet Orange tea is. The tea also doesn't taste like a mound of sugar was added
to the tea, either.
Instead, this tea has a much more subdued sweetness to it. The tea has
a strong honey flavor, but it isn't nearly as sweet has say having a
tablespoon of raw honey.
Also missing in this tea is any trace of bitterness, nastiness or any
sort of ugliness. The tea is very smooth. While not the most aromatic
of teas around, either before or once brewed, this tea has unquestionably
a nice and enjoyable flavor to it. If you like things with honey in it,
or are searching for a tea that is "semi-sweet," this tea from Numi is
highly likely to meet your expectations. Recommendation : Yes. If you like sweet, or semi-sweet,
tea...then you'll like this one. This is especially so if you enjoy the
flavor of honey...this tea has a great honey flavor to it and the honey
flavored after-taste also lingers on and on.
