Lipton Quietly Chamomile Herbal
Tea Review
A pleasant, relaxing bagged tea
Summary : Liptons "Quiety Chamomile" tea
is a pleasant tea with a nice, soothing taste and little after-taste.
It makes for a nice tea to relax with.
Review : Admittedly, after the disasterous experience
of tasting Celestial
Seasonings Chamomile Tea, I was a bit reluctant to try this version
from Lipton. After all, it was a bagged tea, and I've been luke-warm
so far on Lipton bagged teas.
Thankfully, this tea wasn't a disaster waiting to happen. The reason
for this is probably due to both the type of chamomile flowers used in
the tea as well as some of the other ingredients Lipton throws in.
Lipton's Quietly Chamomile Herbal Tea contains the following ingredients
: Chamomile flowers, orange peel, rosehips, hibiscus flowers, allspice,
licorice root, natural lemon, orange and bergamot flavors (contains soy
lecithin).
As you can see, this tea contains a fairly wide assortment of ingredients
- it is not a "straight chamomile tea."
This fact is highlighted in the teas rather pleasant, and soothing, taste.
The taste is not strong, as one would expect from a chamomile tea. But...there
is definitely the hint of lemon in the tea - along with the more traditional
chamomile tea taste that is easier to try than to describe.
Overall, if you are looking for a tea to sit down with and relax with,
Lipton's Chamomile Tea isn't a bad choice at all. While not as tasty
as some loose-leaf chamomile teas, considering it is a bagged supermarket
tea, this particular tea isn't bad at all.
Recommendation : Yes. This is a nice tea to relax with.
Weak to moderate taste - just what the doctor ordered for 'unwinding" and
before heading off to bed. The tea also lacks any sort of real after-taste.
As a sidenote, this tea, like other chamomile teas, is a perfect tea
to take before bedtime. About 10 minutes after finishing off this tea,
I found myself sleepy - despite being wide awake 10 minutes before!
