Celestial Seasonings Black Cherry
Berry Review
Like Cherries? Then try this tea!
Summary : This tea is about as close as you can get
to munching on a piece of black cherry candy, without the drawbacks of
sugar and calories.
Review : I love cherries. Wild Cherry is by far my
favorite flavor of Life Saver. I can live off of wild cherry
life savers in fact, if, of course, I didn't die from malnutrition first.
And so, I was a bit excited to give Celestial Seasonings Black Cherry
Berry tea a whirl, despite some bad experiences with other teas from
Celestial Seasonings.
I wasn't horribly impressed with my first contact with the tea. Yeah,
ok, it did smell ok after I opened up the package. But, it was hardly
overwhelming. Certainly nothing that would knock you over and shorten
your life span by a few years.
Still, the aroma, while hardly awe-inspiring, was still pleasant. And
so I gave this tea the benefit of a doubt and brewed a cup to see what
happened.
This is what Celestial Seasonings says about this tea : "A luscious
treat for your senses, each brewed cup releases a deep ruby-red swirl
brimming with the uplifting scent and delicious flavor of fresh cherry
and berries."
The Black Cherry Berry herbal tea from Celestial Seasonings contains
the following ingredients : Hibiscus, rosehips, roasted chicory root,
blackberry leaves, hawthorn berries, natural black cherry flavor with
other natural flavors, chamomile flowers and sweet cherries.
And you know what? This tea, much to my relief and surprise, lives up
to its billing. Once brewed, this tea does indeed have a deep ruby-red
color as well as a scent of cherries.
More importantly, of course, is that this tea really does taste like
cherries and black cherries. As I'm a cherry junkie, I suspect I was
destined to like this tea to some degree. Still, I wasn't exactly expecting
to really like it, you know?
So, to all you cherry lovers of the world, give this tea a whirl. While
there are better cherry teas in existence, for a supermarket brand, this
is not a bad cherry tea at all.
Recommendation : Yes. If you are fond of cherries,
you and this tea are meant to be together. If you don't like cherries,
well, don't even try it...since cherries is all this tea is.
