Bigelow Perfect Peach Herbal Tea Review
A Tea That Really Does Taste Like Peaches
Summary : This tea is perfect for anyone who loves peaches, period.
Review : I really do like peaches. Granted, they aren't my favorite fruit in the currently known universe. But still, I've yet to turn away a freely offered peach or beverage that has a "taste of peach" in it. And so, after discovering Bigelow's Perfect Peach Herbal Tea in a tea sampler I picked up, I looked forward to giving this tea a try.
Here is what Bigelow says about this tea : "Here's a delightfully different blend with aroma and taste of fresh, ripe peaches and herbs. Perfect Peach™, with its fresh-from-the-orchard flavor is a delicious treat whether you serve it steaming hot or over ice. "
Now, I must confess, I've had some pretty miserable tasting experiences with other Bigelow Teas. And thus, despite my rather buoyant state of mind at actually getting to try a "peach tea", this was always tempered by the harsh fact that Bigelow always seems to make teas I do not especially enjoy!
The aroma of this tea out of the foil wrapper was nice but hardly awe-inspiring. The tea did indeed have a moderately strong smell of peaches, but it definitely didn't smell like a fresh peach straight off the vine.
Yet, what this tea lacks in the aroma department, it more than makes up for in the flavor department. This tea tastes like peaches....period.
Now, the taste of peaches in this tea isn't overpoweriing. I would have been surprised if it was, since it is a bagged tea. Still...the taste is strong...and most definitely provides a pretty strong and flavorful "peach taste."
Bigelow's Perfect Peach Herbal Tea contains the following ingredients : rose hips, hibiscus, peaches, natural and artificial peach flavor (soy lecithin), spices, orange peel, lemon peel, apples, strawberry leaves, roasted chicory.
Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with this peach tea from Bigelow. The tea actually tasted as advertised. And while you can find loose leaf teas that definitely have a better and stronger flavor, all in all for a bagged tea, this one wasn't bad at all.
Recommendation : Yes. If you like peaches, by all means, give this tea a try. If you and peaches do not get along, however, then find another tea because peaches is what this tea is all about.
