Republic of Tea Honey Ginseng Green
Tea Review
A Pleasant & Slightly Sweet Green
Tea
Summary : This is a perfect tea for anyone who doesn't
much care for the sometimes "grassy" taste of green tea. Infused in this
tea is honey and ginseng, making for a very tasty, slightly sweet and
"no-grass" taste.
Review : Honey and green tea are simply meant to get
along. Indeed, honey and tea are simply meant for each other. Honey is
a perfect sweetener for tea, as it doesn't overwhelm the often subtle
flavor(s) of the tea itself. As such, I'm always up to try a tea that
has honey infused into the tea. Throw in a little ginseng and, well,
I'm in paradise.
As such, I couldn't resist ordering the Honey Ginseng green tea during
my last order from the Republic of Tea.
The Honey Ginseng green tea from the Republic of Tea contains the following
ingredients : China green tea, linden flowers, polle, eleuthero, Panax
ginseng and natural flavoring.
Here is how the Republic of Tea describes this tea : "A relaxing
blend combines the ancient healthy properties of China green tea with
Panax ginseng and full blossom honey. This delicious, subtly sweet tea
offers a peaceful sipping experience."
This tea is moderately aromatic. It doesn't have a overwhelming aroma
about it...but it's not weak either. Sort of "in-between" your all-too-typical
bagged tea and the frequent overpowering aroma of a quality loose-leaf
tea.
The flavor of this tea is excellent. Gone is any sort of "grassy" taste
due to the green tea. Instead, you'll receive a nice mix of slightly
sweet honey along with ginseng. These two ingredients seem to mix perfectly,
creating a slightly sweet yet quite light tea.
The after-taste of this tea is quite simply delightful. I absolutely
loved this after-taste...as it was basically a "honey flavored after
taste." The best way to describe it is as if someone slopped some very
stick honey all over your mouth and which would not fully dissolve for
at least 30 minutes.
I was especially surprised at the duration of the after-taste, considering
this was a bagged tea.
Recommendation : Yes. Anyone who loves honey will adore
this tea. And if you need a break from "traditional green tea" and still
want your antioxidants, this is an ideal tea to try.

 | Green Anji : Green tea from the Zhejiang region of China. The name translates to "safety and prosperity," a gentle reminder of green tea's health benefits. Its thin, wavy leaves appear almost black when dry. Once infused, however, our "Green Anji" shows its true colors, producing a light cup with a smooth, mellow taste and a gentle, soothing aroma.
