Lipton Mixed Berry Green Tea Review
Nothing Exciting...But Not a Bad Cherry
Flavored Tea
Summary : While far from the worlds greatest green
tea around, this cherry flavored green tea really isn't that bad. The
addition of cherry does mix well with the other ingredients, leading
to a pleasant if unmemorable tea.
Review : Of all the berries in this world, cherries
are, by far, my favorite. I mean, who can resist a wild cherry lifesaver?
Or cherry chocolate mint? Or for that matter, just a cherry right off
the vine? And the list goes on and on.
And so I found myself with a bag of Liptons Mixed Berry Green Tea in
the green tea sampler box I bought. Despite disliking two of the teas,
the other three weren't that bad, so I was willing to give this flavor
the benefit of the doubt.
And I'm glad I did, as this tea was surprising. These are the ingredients
in this tea : Green tea, natural cherry, raspberry, blueberry and strawberry
flavors with other natural flavors (contains soy lecithin).
And this is how Liption describes this tea on their website : "We
blend the flavors of ripe berries with our green tea for a special combination
that’s sure to please."
Now, I'm not saying this tea is great. Or even super. Or even better
than average. That would be a stretch. But...this isn't a bad tea. And
it sure beats the pants off of Liptons
Authentic Green Tea, that is for sure.
The flavor of this tea is rather pleasant, if somewhat forgettable.
True, out of the bag you'll hardly be impressed by its aroma. However,
once brewed, this tea does indeed have somewhat of a light fragrance
of cherry in it. And the fragrance more or less matches the taste, a
light tasting cherry-flavored green tea.
Overall, this is far from being a memorable tea. But I'm glad I drank
it, if only because I love cherry. And the ingredient mix in this tea
does seem to work fairly well. While you won't be amazed by the teas
taste, its unlikely this tea will find the drain either.
Recommendation : Yes, if you like cherry flavored teas.
Just don't expect to be "wowed" by a powerful taste. The taste
of this tea is pleasant, but definitely on the weak side. There are,
however, better cherry flavored green teas in loose-leaf varieties, that's
for sure.
