Carrington Green Tea Mint Review

A Pleasant Mint Green Tea

Summary : This is a pleasant and enjoyable green tea with mint. The tea isn't bitter and does indeed have a somewhat subtle mint flavor to it.

Review : I love green tea. And I love, actually adore, mint flavored teas. Thus, it should come as no surprise that anything that says "mint" and "green tea" on the same box is likely to attract my attention. And sure enough, when I saw a Mint Green Tea at the local Sentry grocery store put out by the Carrington Tea Company I couldn't pass up the opportunity to give this tea a try.

This tea contains the following ingredients : Green tea leaves and mint leaves. No artificial colors or flavors are added...so kudos to Carrington for that.

This is how Carrington describes this tea on their website : "The extraordinary, clean taste of mint lends an enchanting delectablilty to green tea in Carrington Green Tea with Mint."

The aroma of this tea was about as expected...basically having a moderately strong mint fragrance. The aroma is just strong enough to get your hopes up that the tea might be really good...but not quite strong enough to let your hopes gallop wildly away across the prairie.

The flavor of the tea, once brewed, was also more or less as expected. The best way to say how it tasted is that it has a moderate flavor of mint. The flavor of green tea is mysteriously absent...but I'm not horribly surprised about this, as the tea most likely contains far more mint leaves than green tea leaves.

Overall, this tea was pleasant to drink. There is nothing special about it, but the mint flavor is enjoyable and the lack of a "grassy taste" found in many other green teas is also a nice surprise. If you like a mint tea, then by all means, give this tea a try.

Recommendation : Yes. If you enjoy tea with mint in them, you'll almost certainly enjoy this one. Green tea purists will not like this tea at all due to the near total absence of green tea flavor. But...for anyone who likes mint...and wants to get their daily dose of healthy antioxidants...this tea makes a fine tea to drink.
