Chocolate Cherry Tea Review
A Chocolate and Cherry Lovers Delight
Summary : An excellent tea that nicely combines
chocolate and cherry. After significant research, I discovered that this
tea was created by Maikotea. But...good luck finding some place that
sells it!
Review : I love Christmas. Like everyone else, I do
enjoy spending time with family, sampling good food, and all and all
- just being a bum. Yet, lets face it, we all enjoy the "unexpected
surprises" that occasionally show up in the mail or arrive via UPS
or FedX. And so it was with a big surprise that I opened up a christmas
package from some friends I have in Montana and discovered some high
quality Japanese Tea.
What was so unusual about this gift is that tea
is like a endangered species in Montana to begin with - so getting
premium Japanese Tea was indeed a rare treat. Moreover, it was definitely a positive
development from the normal Minnesota Vikings football paraphanelia
(I HATE the Vikings!) and exotic lingerie gifts that frequently show up instead!
Now, the review of this Chocolate Cherry Tea is going to be a bit different.
Why you ask? The tea arrived in some very nice air-tight containers
that were unmarked except for a handful of cryptic Japanese language
symbols. On the very bottom of the tea is a sticker in english that says
Kotobuki.
I did a rather exhaustive search on this, looking for where
to order it, and after many days of tears, I finally discovered that
the manufacturer of this tea is Maikotea - a very high quality tea producer
in Japan.
And not only was the tea lacking who made it, the tea also had
no instructions. So, I drew upon my vast reservoir of tea knowledge and
made it the same
way
most
other
flavored/chocolate
teas are made. And, I must say, I was definitely not disappointed.
So, lets put this succinctly. Do you like Chocolate? Do you like Cherry?
And do you like tea? If you answered yes to all three, well, you're in
luck. You'll like this tea. This tea comes about as close as possible,
I guess, to actually tasting like a Chocolate Cherry beverage. And since
I adore Chocolate and like Cherries and love the combination of the two,
the simple fact that I liked this tea should come as no surprise.
Now here's a few things about this tea. Some of the leaves of this tea
are exceptionally small, allowing lots of leaves to escape the infuser
and thereby ending up in the bottom of the cup instead. I tried three
different infusers
-
all with the same results. Many of the leaves are just so darn small
- almost like a large, fine dust - that they just effortlessly slip through
the smallest of infusers before you add water. Once water has been added,
the leaves expand dramatically.
This Chocolate Cherry tea also has a wonderful aroma about it. It smells
like, well, choclate cherries. The chocolate aroma is a bit weak, but
there is no mistaking the strong cherry smell.
Overall, if you like chocolate and cherry, you'll like this tea. But
have fun trying to track down who sells it!
Recommendation : Absolutely - And if you know where
to get more of it, please let me know!
