Good Earth Chai Black Tea Review
An Very Flavorful and Moderately Spicy
Chai Tea
Summary : I liked this chai tea. It isn't as spicy
as some other chai teas I've had, but the rich, very strong flavor more
than made up for the lack of spice the tea had.
Review : Earlier tonight I had my first ever Good Earth
tea, their Original Sweet
& Spicy tea...and I absolutely loved it. Indeed,
it was one of the best teas I've ever had. So, after enduring 20 degree
temperatures on my walk tonight, I was in the mood for something with
some kick to it to warm me up. And one of the best warming teas around
is a chai tea, and so I was looking forward too giving the Good Earth
chai tea a try.
This chai tea from Good Earth contains the following ingredients : Black
Tea, Chicory Root, Cardamom, Pepper, Cinnamon, Ginger, Cloves, and other
Spices, Natural Flavors.
Here is how the Good Earth describes this tea : "Chai tea is a
flavorful beverage that has been enjoyed for centuries in Tibet and India.
Legend tells us that Chai tea was invented by a King in India and Siam
and that the recipe was a royal treasure for many centuries and later
became the tea of choice in Tibet. Today, Chai tea is now popular worldwide
and is a natural source of Antioxidants."
I really liked the aroma this tea had. It wasn't nearly as "peppery"
as many other chai teas that have pepper in them are. Instead, the tea
had a very strong fragrance of cinnamon. And cinnamon in a chai tea is
a perfect mix!
Now, this chai tea from Good Earth doesn't go heavy on the pepper. As
such, it is not quite as spicy as other chai teas that use gobs of the
stuff in it. Instead, this tea gets it still fairly substantial kick
from the heaping amounts of cinnamon in the tea...along with whatever
other spices Good Earth throws into the tea.
Additionally, the tea happily lacks any bitterness...something found
in cheaper chai teas that use low quality black tea leaves. Just make
sure you do not overbrew it!
This tea has a very pleasant and moderately long-lasting after-taste.
And best of all, the after-taste is of...you guessed it...cinnamon!
Overall, if you like chai teas or cinnamon teas, you will definitely
want to give this tea a try. As the Good Earth Chai Tea can be difficult
to find in the offline world, your best bet to find this tasty tea will
be in the grocery section at Amazon.Com (Good Earth Teas at Amazon).
Recommendation : Yes. This is a very enjoyable chai
tea. Anyone who loves cinnamon will adore this tea. And unlike many chai
teas that have pepper in them, Good Earth doesn't overdo the pepper here...thus
preventing the tea from tasting like black pepper.
